Another fun-filled B&P meeting. And this week we had TWO folks debuting in key meeting roles! Liz Johnson did a superb job at her first Toastmaster of the Day role. Her theme was October Throughout History, and Liz provided interesting historical factoids about events and milestones that occurred in the month of October. Although a tad nervous at the start, Liz showed that B&P spirit by quickl...y settling into her groove. Great job, Liz! A warm B&P welcome to our guest, Tony Reyna, who had been a B&P member many moons ago; he stopped in for a visit. Good to see you Tony, and hope you get a chance to come back! Word of the Day was ‘Stultify’, which means to lose enthusiasm, initiative and become mentally dull. Sue Thompson was in control of the General Evaluator duties and she kept the evaluation side clipping along very well. Excellent job to both ladies as they debuted in their respective roles. And they had the entire program lined up by Tuesday morning! WOW! Doug Kelly pinch-hit for Ed Dylla as Table Topics Master after Ed called stating that his keys were locked in his car. The running gag of course, was that Ed’s car is a convertible! But, I digress… Doug, following the usual; Ed Dylla single-word format, asked participants what comes to mind with the single word ‘Pink’. And taking away the best Table Topics award was Elaine Miller. Best Evaluator ribbon went to Dave Cornell a great evaluation of Hal Heinz’ speech. And the coveted blue ribbon, the ribbon we all come to the weekly meetings for, was awarded to Kirk Binder, for a wonderfully humorous and visual speech entitled, ‘It’s All About Hal!’. Lori Brown presented the Spirit Stick to David Bamberger for his continual demonstration of the B&P spirit. Congratulations to our 3 ribbon and Spirit Stick winners! By the time the meeting was over, we were anything but ‘stultified’! Good friends, a welcoming spirit, lots of laughter and good oratory. Looking forward to seeing YOU next Friday... same B&P time, same B&P channel!
