Yet another fabulous B&P Toastmasters meeting. Lots of laughs, a bit of Spirit Stick history, and wonderful camaraderie. As Toastmaster of the Day, Doug Kelly kept the meeting moving right along. Official meeting theme was ‘There Is No Theme’, which provided any number of possibilities for the meeting. Word of the Day was ‘Rumbustious’, which means noisy, boisterous or unruly. Yeah, there were a couple times where we got a bit ‘rumbustious’, but for good-hearted reason! And a warm B&P welcome to our guests, Rachael Jones, Michael Marchbanks, and JJ Hernandez. Welcome back Rachael and Michael, and wonderful to meet JJ! Bob Carlson was General Evaluator and he had a fabulous Evaluation Team. Table Topics was run by Jeff Brown who chose topics that involved women – with a slight humorous twist – in a nod to the 3 prepared speech speakers – all women, working out of their CC manuals. Best Table Topic award went to Pat Sullivan for a delightful answer to the question, ‘If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, what is a girl’s second best friend’? Answer – A beautiful leather love seat from Choice Leather Furniture! Great adlib, as usual! Best Evaluator award went to Elaine Miller for an excellent evaluation of Lori Brown’s speech. And the top honor, the crème de la crème of awards, that coveted blue Best Speaker ribbon was awarded to Anne Marie Weldon for a funny and animated speech entitled, ‘It's Boy!! And the Stories You'll Hear’. Jeff Brown presented the Spirit Stick to Anne Marie Weldon for her stepping up and volunteering for the B&P Christmas Party. (And Anne-Marie will have her hands full with the event only 4 short
weeks away!) Congratulations to our 3 ribbon and Spirit Stick winners! And thus, another B&P meeting comes to an almost-rumbustious ending. Lots of laughs, wonderful friendship, and fine oratory – what more does one need from a fine B&P meeting? Proud recipient of the President’s Distinguished Award, every year, since 2004. Looking forward to seeing YOU next Friday... same B&P time, same B&P channel!
